The Cardea Polished Nickel finish is a solid brass plating and will generally require little maintenance as nickel is a relatively slow ageing metal. To maintain the finish we recommend wiping the item with a micro-fibre cloth to remove dirt deposits and polishing with a good quality metal polish

The application of a light wax after cleaning can be beneficial but is not essential. We do NOT recommend the use of liquid polishes that will leave a residue

The Cardea Covered Standard Profile Escutcheon is a circular escutcheon with a counter-sunk hole on either side of the keyhole for sturdy and secure visible screw-fixing that has a circular keyhole cover over the top to provide more privacy and prevent any draughts through the keyhole
This product is designed to act as a key hole cover for any British standard sash lock or dead lock
